This covers the Wrytr Mac app and this website, wrytr.app. It is written in plain language on purpose.
Wrytr is a writing app for your Mac. You do not create an account. We do not receive your sheets, tags, or search history.
Your writing stays in files on your computer, or in a folder you choose, such as iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. If you use a synced folder, that service’s privacy policy applies to those files. The search index Wrytr builds stays on your Mac.
The app does not include analytics, advertising, or crash reporting that sends your writing to us.
If you buy Wrytr from the Mac App Store, Apple handles the payment. We do not receive your card number, Apple ID password, or billing address. Apple’s privacy policy covers that purchase.
Apple may give us ordinary sales reports (for example, that a sale happened, and in which country). Those reports are not your writing, and they do not include payment details.
Refunds and billing questions for an App Store purchase go through Apple.
If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you submit. We use it to confirm you signed up and to email you when Wrytr is ready to explore. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for ads.
The waitlist is stored by our website host, Netlify. Confirmation email is sent with Resend. Those companies process your email only to provide those services.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts. Our host may keep ordinary server logs (such as IP address and browser) to run and protect the site. We do not use advertising cookies.
We keep your address until we have notified you that the app is available, or until you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first.
Email wrytr.app@outlook.com to be taken off the waitlist, or with any privacy question. You can delete Wrytr and your local sheets at any time from your Mac.
Wrytr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update this page and the date above.
